Exodus Machines Incorporated, the first U.S.-based company dedicated exclusively to building material handlers, rolled out its first model last fall. The MX447L is a 101,000 pound wheeled material handler with 51- or 59-feet of reach, and a 9.0L 275-hp John Deere engine. According to the company, three additional sizes are set to roll out over the next two years.
Exodus Machines is headquartered in Wisconsin where a new state of the art manufacturing facility and headquarters was completed last summer.
“We gave our engineers a clean sheet to start and the goal to build the absolute best material handlers in the world,” says Bruce Bacon, president and founder. “We’ve engaged the right group of engineers and given them the tools to make it happen.”
The MX447L features cab to the ground for operator safety and convenience, and a diagnostic and control system that allows both local technicians and factory engineers to monitor the machine. The undercarriage includes an exclusive chassis, four independent planetary drives, high clearance and completely protected components. Additional standard features include: an ultra-comfortable cab; common parts which are easy to find locally; structural components made from Weldox 100 steel; a best in class fuel economy rating and power on the 9.0L 275hp engine; and true all wheel traction.
Customer response has been very positive according to Greg Bacon, Exodus’ VP of Sales and Marketing. “Getting operators in this machine has been very exciting for us,” he says. “We couldn’t be more pleased with the reaction we’ve received from people that have run it.”
